Well ... has anyone seen the new Vogue Knitting magazine? It has Prism's Athena Wrap, which uses one skein each of 8 colors of Merino Mia. If you must have the Athena Wrap Kit, visit our online shop to find your favorite color combination.

There are also three patterns (shown above) from the Josh Bennett collection that will work beautifully with the Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool (192 yards, 65% Wool, 35% Silk), size US6. This yarn is priced at $9.00/skein and is available in 45 colors!

We are famous in Gulfport, Florida!!! Our friend and fellow knitter Kathy, a writer for The Gabber, and her canine buddy Calypso, attended our Open Knit last Saturday night. She took a few pictures and wrote a wonderful article that appeared in this weeks Gabber. We thank her for her kind words.

Well...yesterday was our 3rd birthday! What an exciting week. The website (www.needlesandknobs.com) has been completely reworked! And WOW does it ever look good thanks to Eliot's hard work and really long hours! It has lists of all of the companies that we deal with, pictures of all kinds of neat projects and links to the shopping cart.

Speaking of the shopping cart, it is working like a champ! I've been loading all kinds of neat things from Century Hardware, Hot Knobs and MKC Architectural to Clover Takumi Velvet Circulars in all lengths and Indulgence by Prism.

Remember, even if we don't have it in the store, we can usually order it in for you! I am happy to announce that Prisms' Merino Mia Athena Wrap and Technicolor Jacket is available for sale! Both patterns and kits are available at our shopping cart. It is a tremendous use of color and an absolutely stunning piece when completed.

Each piece of the wrap measures 18" x 56" after blocking. The kit contains 8 skeins of Prisms' Merino Mia in one of the four (4) colorways: Neutrals, Dusky Pastels, Dark Autumn or Desert, the pattern and a zippered bag.

The Technicolor Jacket sizes to a finished XL (48"). This kit contains 16 skeins of Prisms' Merino Mia (6 Sandwashed Solids and 12 Multi), the pattern and a zippered bag. Available in Neutrals, Dark Autumn, Jewels, Dusky Pastels or Desert.

Well...for those of you that check the website, you will know that we've finally gotten the on-line shopping cart working properly! Payment methods are PayPal Express or PayPal. This makes it secure. We allow orders from the US, Canada, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. I have included some Plymouth, Malabrigo, Prism Stuff and Impressions, Saki, Merino Mia and Lace Wool and Tilli Tomas' Beaded Lace and Voile de la Mer. I am also happy to say that I have started to include some cabinet hardware. You will find some of the most unique glass square knobs and pulls from Hot Knobs. They are handcrafted in the USA. The colors are wonderful and they sure would add a much needed boost to any kitchen decor. There is also some beautiful new pieces from Century hardware. Watch for new hardware additions.

Finally!!! A Summer Workshop schedule...

I am happy to say that after a week or so of work, the workshop schedule is finally ready. We will have four (4) workshops. They are each on a Tuesday night from 7-9PM. We will be using Cascade's Fixation, Prism's Merino Mia and Lace Wool, Tilli Tomas' Beaded Lace or Voile de la Mer and Rowan's Calmer. I've knitted with all of these and there is not a bad one in the bunch. I just finished the Entrelac Washcloth sampler with the Rowan Calmer...yummy! Now...let's talk about the Mystique Shawl by Tilli Tomas! It's really very luxurios. It's simple and beautiful. The pattern is free with the purchase of the yarn.

Well...3 days and many hours later, Prism's Merino Mia (197 yds.), Saki (440 yds.) and Lace Wool (1460 yds.) are all available to you on the Needles & Knobs On-Line Shopping Cart. Merino Mia and Lace Wool are 100% Merino Wool and Saki is 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon. They are all hand dyed here in St. Petersburg, Florida by Laura Bryant of Prism Arts. Also SWTC's Jezebel (330 yds. of lace weight) and Plymouth's Forever self patterning sock yarns. I'll be adding more each week so be sure to watch.

I have been working feverishly today to load Prism's Saki and Merino Mia. Saki is completely loaded with pictures. It is 440 yards of 75%Merino and 25% Nylon. I'm adicted. Eliot convinced me to get with the program today and join this insanity! I've found friends (and boyfriends) that I haven't thought about in 30+ years! It's crazy!!! I've been on there all afternoon and loving every minute of it.

OK...so now that I've come into the 21st (or later) century...I'm hooked. Wow...a Blog and Facebook all in the same week. Imagine that!
